Profile: My name is Jane Blog. I am a committed and dedicated Nurse with over seven years of experience, and for the past four years, I have been a ward sister in Adult Nursing at Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. I graduated from Anglia Ruskin University, where I excelled in my courses and achieved honours.

Currently, I supervise a busy ward with, on average, 18 patients, which I find stimulating, enjoyable and rewarding. During my career to date, I have experience in a wide range of clinical specialities, including Paediatrics, Critical Care, Cardiology and A&E, largely because I wanted to be able to make a fully informed decision when the time came to specialise.

Achievements: During this time, not only have I developed my clinical skills, but I have also learned how to communicate sensitively and compassionately with patients and their families, and I can interact with co-workers and physicians courteously in a professional manner. I enjoy teaching and have received positive feedback from new nurses about my ability to explain procedures clearly. I have given formal presentations to the team, which I find rewarding.

Skills: In terms of strengths, I combine my experience, skills and dedication to Nursing. My colleagues have praised me for my ability to remain calm under pressure and to contribute as part of the team. I am good with problem-solving and providing safe and effective care to my patients.

Sell: Going forward, I believe I am ready to take on this Senior Nursing role. My desire is for a greater challenge clinically; I want to move into a more acute environment, and this hospital offers me the opportunity to work with trauma patients. In addition, I like this hospital's environment and the care level provided by the physicians and surgeons.

You can add: Outside work, I enjoy keeping fit and go for long walks daily. I speak three languages, Shona English and Ndebele, and volunteer with A charity called the African Young Peoples Initiative, where I mentor young people aged 16-25 years.
